Family Education has five distinct programs under its umbrella. These programs provide services to Saint Paul citizens of all ages.  The Early Childhood Family Education program provides quality classes and family activities that support parents as their children's first and most important teachers.  Community Kindergarten offers classes five half-days per week to four and five year old children before kindergarten. Classes are held in elementary schools and community locations.  The School Readiness program provides services to support and enhance the learning and development of four and five year-old children the year prior to kindergarten. The priority is to serve children who speak a home language other than English, qualify for free or reduced lunch, or are referred from Early Childhood Screening and have no prior preschool experience.  Discovery Club provides before and after school programming in a safe, fun, and accepting environment. Children participate in a variety of academic enrichment and recreational activities. The program serves students at fourteen elementary schools during the school year and eight schools in the summer. Sites are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.  The Working Family Resource Center is a business/education partnership serving individuals at their workplaces. WFRC offers classes, resources, and support at work sites throughout the year. Classes may also be customized for parent and family involvement at schools. Schools may build their Wellness Program using the ABC wellness application.
