EARLY CHILDHOOD CURRICULUM
In conjunction with the Saint Paul Schools' 1999 strategic plan, the Family Education department developed an extensive early childhood curriculum for use in pre-kindergarten classrooms.

The creation of this document accomplished the following:

  • To meet the superintendent's goals to provide a quality instructional program and prepare all students for life.
  • To align with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (the Minnesota Department of Education standards for early childhood).
  • To have proven practices and scientifically-based curriculum available for both early childhood and early elementary teachers working with children who are developmentally 3-5 years old.
  • To support and respect our teachers by creating a curriculum resource that is easily adaptable for the changing demographics and make-up of the young children of Saint Paul.

This curriculum is available in print, and on the web.
